Our Story

The Single Builders family.

Building Our Family Business

Mark Single completed his building apprenticeship under the guidance of Loanna’s father where he would work during the day and study his Clark of Works at TAFE after hours. Once Mark became a licensed builder, he and his wife Loanna set up a small home building business over 30 years ago which they ran from their humble home office. A perfect example of a true partnership, Mark and Loanna have supported each other throughout this time and together they have both developed a wealth of knowledge in construction management and development.  

A Small Business

With a young family to support in the beginning, Mark and Loanna worked tirelessly to turn their small business into a successful, locally recognised and family owned success story. Being a family owned and operated company, Single Builders understand the importance of locals supporting local and have always strived to utilise other local owned businesses wherever possible. 

A Tradition Continues

Keeping the family tradition alive, Mark and Loanna’s sons’ Justin and Grant, are third generation builders and have both worked for the family business since individually leaving school where both have completed their apprenticeships with the company and gained their own building licences. Upon completing their apprenticeships, both Justin and Grant spent time as carpentry crew leaders where they were responsible for the daily organisation and overseeing of their teams. Grant has now moved into the business side of the company and undertaken his comprehensive role as estimator and Justin remains on the tools heading up a successful Commercial carpentry crew. 

The Future

After growing up in Tamworth themselves, raising their own family in Tamworth, watching their grandchildren grow up in Tamworth and growing their small building business into the company it is today, Mark and Loanna Single are very passionate about giving back to the community that has given them so much opportunity throughout the years. Mark and Loanna are committed to improving the town or bringing opportunities to the community that will benefit Tamworth now and into the future.

In 2014, Mark and Loanna Single were the proud recipients of the Noel Park Award at the Tamworth Business Awards, 50th Anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce. The Noel Park Award is awarded to someone who is recognised to have made a significant contribution to the Tamworth community.


Loanna Single has also been awarded the Tamworth Business Women of the Year, twice.
